"As one Caribbean festival tries to force performers to clean up their lyrics and improve their behavior, another has booked an American rapper who has been labeled "X rated" by some reviewers.
Dwayne Michael Carter Jr, known in the hip hop world as Lil Wayne, is headlining Jamaica's Reggae Sumfest's International Night 1 on July 18.
He recently created history on the Billboard charts by becoming the first performer in three years to sell a million records in the first week of release. As music downloads have soared, record sales have slumped and Lil Wayne's The Carter III has shaken-up an industry reeling from consistent losses."
